Emme to focus on women execs

Emme Tomimbang's "Emme's Island Moments" will focus on "Island Women Executives" at 9 p.m. Oct. 23 and 4 p.m. Oct. 26 on KGMB.

The show profiles leading women in the business community, including first lady Vicky Cayetano, who owns a laundry business; Gina Mangieri, editor of Pacific Business News; Cheryl Ka'uhane, CEO of the O'ahu YWCA; Constance Lau, president and CEO of American Savings Bank; and four YWCA Leader Luncheon honorees, including Caroline Ward Oda of St. Andrew's Priory, Sandy Fong of Market City, entertainer Nalani Olds and Leona Jona of KNDI.


Benefit includes 'ukulele masters

A foursome of 'ukulele wizards — Herb "Ohta-san" Ohta, Lyle Ritz, Herb Ohta Jr. and Keoki Kahu-moku — will perform from 6 to 9 pm. Oct. 26 at Mamiya Theatre, St. Louis School. The event is a benefit for Voyager Charter School.

Roy Sakuma's 'Ukulele Studio students also will perform.

A silent auction will offer such items as Neighbor Island trips, a custom-made KoAloha 'Ukulele as well as a G String uke, and a scooter from Cycle City.

Kaimuki center sets 'Pied Piper'

The Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center will present "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," from a script by Peggy Anne Siegmund and Dennis Proulx, at 3 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24 at the Kaimuki High School Theatre, 2705 Kaimuki Ave.

Siegmund is directing the show, which features students in the center's advanced acting and theater craft programs.

Tickets: $6 for adults, $4 for seniors over 65 and students, and free for pre-kindergarten keiki.
