Honolulu's Flanagan in water polo festival

Punahou School graduate Katie Flanagan, a freshman at UCLA, will play in the first Top 40 Festival for women's water polo.

Flanagan is a 6-foot defender from Honolulu.

The Festival will bring together "Olympians of the past, present and future" for a weekend tournament Nov. 22-24 at the USA Water Polo National Aquatic Center in Los Alamitos, Calif.

There will also be exhibitions and autograph sessions, with 41 players from seven of USA Water Polo's nine geographical zones involved.


MEETINGS

• Na Koa: University of Hawai'i head football coach June Jones and defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa will review Saturday night's game against Tulsa and preview the Warriors' next game against Fresno State at today's meeting of the Na Koa Football Club.

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at All-Star Hawai'i in Waikiki.

• Quarterback Club: UH quarterbacks coach Dan Morrison and defensive backs coach Rich Miano are the featured speakers at today's Honolulu Quarterback Club meeting.

The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Hotel.

The club also will honor the outstanding male and female sports persons for the month of September, UH quarterback Shawn Withy-Allen, and Kim Willoughby, outside hitter for the second-ranked UH women's volleyball team.
