A San Francisco business executive, author and patient advocate, including senior vice president of advertising and sales promotion, The Emporium department store; vice president of marketing, San Francisco Newspaper Agency; and co-author, after a diagnosis of cancer, of the 1998 book, "Taking Charge of Your Health: Understanding the System Could Save Your Life," a guide for people struggling with critical illnesses. Also active in San Francisco charities, including San Francisco Symphony, Junior League of San Francisco, and stints as president of the symphony's Junior Women's Committee, and president of Stanford Alumni Association of Marin County. Survived by husband, James; brothers, Malcolm, Edward, Joseph, Sperry and Daniel MacNaughton; sisters, Anne Keyser and Kathleen.
