THE LEFT LANE
Good for your health

Advertiser Staff and News Services

In its November issue, Men's Health magazine ranks Honolulu among the healthiest cities.

The editors rated 101 cities on such factors as heart disease, lung and prostate cancer rates, motor vehicle accidents, percentage of people who exercise, the number of doctors per person and air quality.

But they also praised the climate and expressed appreciation for: "Twenty-footers on the North Shore. Dusk on Sunset Beach. Women in grass skirts, with hips that move faster than a paint-can mixer."

The magazine includes features on diet, seduction tips, body-sculpting advice. Their editors' pick for unhealthiest city? Atlanta.

Trick-or-treat galore

The number of potential 5- to 14-year-old trick-or-treaters across the United States is 41.1 million, according to Census 2000. This number is greater than the baby boom children in this age range counted in the 1970 census (40.7 million).

California had the largest number of 5- to 14-year-olds in 2000 — 5.3 million.

Of course, many "kids" older than 14 also dress up for the occasion.

Anna Nicole returns

SMITH
E! can't get enough of Anna Nicole Smith.

The cable network has renewed "The Anna Nicole Show" for a second season, meaning cameras will once again follow the former Playboy Playmate of the Year and widow of a billionaire through her decidedly not-so-normal life.

"'The Anna Nicole Show' has been a huge success for E!," says Mark Sonnenberg, the network's executive vice president for entertainment. "Viewers are captivated by Anna Nicole's surreal world."
