'Clown' robs bank in Market City Foodland

Advertiser Staff

A man with a painted clown's face and colorful wig robbed the American Savings Bank branch inside of Market City Foodland today.

The robbery at 2939 Harding Ave. was reported at 11:15 a.m.

The robber used a demand note, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police said the suspect is believed to be the person who robbed the same bank on Sept. 28 and the Bank of Hawaii within the Kamehameha Shopping Center Star Market on Oct. 19.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male in his early 20s, about 6 feet and 200 pounds with a muscular build.

He had blonde hair and blue eyes and was sporting white face paint, a red clown's nose, a multi-colored clown wig, a dark colored bandana, a long-sleeve blue and yellow shirt, denim shorts and dark athletic shoes.
