Tommy Lee's telltale tattoos gave him away

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

SIGHT 'EMS: The body tattoos were a give-away when rocker Tommy Lee enjoyed cocktails and the Honolulu waterfront view from Gordon Biersch at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Lee has been in town to help the Navy launch its big mall at Pearl Harbor, where he also was spotted. ...

Two unannounced guests at last Saturday's KSSK Perry & Price Hanohano Room show at the Sheraton Waikiki looked like Beach Boys. And they were: Mike Love and Bruce Johnson, in town for a Chevron retailers gig at Fort DeRussy. The duo noted that they'd be doing New Year's Eve shows at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and gave away two tickets to the rock-out. ...

Greg London, who has a socko inspirational CD out, "Song of America," guests on this morning's Perry & Price show. It looked like a mini restaurant convention at Sunday breakfast at the Halekulani. Compadres owners Dick and Monene Bradley were at one table; Sal Casola, who shared ownership of the now-gone Rose City Diner with the Bradleys and Rick Enos some years back, was at an adjoining table. Casola now has restaurants in Las Vegas, two new ones in Los Angeles (Madame Wu's and Morelle's French Steak House), joining his Market City Cafe locations. ...

RANDOM NOTES: Willie K was a surprise guest — well, maybe not — at the Tiki's Grill & Bar benefit for the Waikiki Community Center last week. He joined Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom in song, much to the delight of those attending. The restaurant at the Aston Waikiki has been holding a round of benefits, including one for the Shriner's Children's Transportation Fund and Aloha United Way. Even Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawai'i, was in last week for lunch. ...

Poor Greg Gabaylo. The popular juggler was doing a gig at Blaisdell Center's Pikake Room recently, where a segment was taped for a live audience for inclusion in an upcoming OK 16 "Braddahs and Kids" special. "After the show, I was signing some autographs and had left three sets of juggling clubs on a seat." By the time he remembered to retrieve 'em, they were gone. "I had to use an extra set for my shows at the Hale Koa Hotel, but the lost clubs have sentimental value," he said. They were a gift from magician John Hirokawa's mother. ...

When Gov. Ben Cayetano was honored recently in a Child & Family Service fund-raiser at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, spouse Vicky Cayetano thought it would be prudent to get affordable, fun local talent. So Greg Hammer portrayed the Guv in a sketch, with two constituents played by Da Braddahs (Tony Silva and James Roache). The trio was unknown to most of the audience, but managed to get laughs. ...

THE LOCAL ANGLE: Look for former Isle deejay-actor Lou Richards — he's Michael W. Perry's brother-in-law — on tonight's "Without a Trace" on CBS. He's been doing a lot of TV shows — including an upcoming "CSI-Miami" and "Presidio Med." ...

Auntie Genoa Keawe turns 82 today and her Thursday gig, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Moana Terrace of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel, will be the site of a birthday to-do with family, friends and beaucoup good wishes. And yep, you can expect Auntie to uncork her unrivaled falsetto and do what only she can do: hold and hold and hold that note on her signature "Alika" ....
