"The Boy Who Stole the Stars," a drama by Julian Wiles, Sept. 20, 21 and 28 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. A young local boy enlists the aid of his dying grandfather to "count the stars." Incorporates a patchwork of visual images that relate to discovery of the mysteries of the nighttime sky and the meaning of friendship. Directed by Tamara Hunt. Following the opening performance, the audience will be able to attend a stargazing party by Stargazers of Hawai'i, on the Kennedy Theatre lawn.
"Lysistrata," a drama by Aristophanes, Oct. 25, 26, 31, Nov. 1 and 2 at 8 p.m and Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Adult-oriented take on sex, war and politics, in a risque interpretation of the timeless Greek story about women finding a way to take charge. Translation by Kenneth McLeish, directed by Glenn Cannon, choreographed by Christine Berwin.
"Kyogen: Laughter for All Time," a classic Japanese work, Dec. 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Japan's classical comic theater presents three short comedies a story of a master and his conniving servants who are desperate to get into the master's sake; a tale of a mountain priest who plays a hilarious trick on a servant; and a family farce about a demanding wife and mother-in-law, and a husband seeking revenge. Directed by Julie A. Iezzi, with training from the Okura School of Kyogen.
"Dance Korea!," a celebration of Korean immigration, Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. Choreographed by Jeong Ho Nam, a pre-eminent artist from South Korea, and featuring UH students and dancers from the Korea National University of the Arts, celebrating 100 years of Korean immigration to Hawai'i. With additional choreography by Mary Jo Freshley, Korean dance instructor.
"The Robbers," a play by Friedrich Schiller translated by Robert David MacDonald, April 25, 26, May 1, 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. and May 4 at 2 p.m. A dark story of two brothers driven to extremes the impetuous idealist Karl and his scheming brother Franz. Directed by Markus Wessendorf.
Jim Gamble and His Puppets "Celebrate America!" Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Puppeteer returns with a host of characters for a patriotic show.

"Fine Dancing," a dance-drama by Vilsoni Hereniko, Sept. 4, 5, 6, 7 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. A Pacific tale about the magical and healing powers of Tahitian dance, serving as a metaphor for sexual and cultural identify. Directed by Angela Mangano, Master of Fine Arts candidate, choreographed by Norman Muoz.
"Footholds I: Dancing Voices," an evening of dance, Nov. 13, 14, 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. Choreographed by Melissa Teodoro and Ana Paula Hofling, MFA candidates.
"Darkweed," a play by Deborah Poage, Jan. 29, 30, 31 and Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. A venture into the realm of horror comic fantasy, in which an aspiring comic-book creator falls victim to his own creation, as he is drawn into fantasies of conquest and betrayal. Directed by Sammie Choy.
"Waiting for Godot," a drama by Samuel Beckett, March 12, 13, 14 and15 at 8 p.m. and March 16 at 2 p.m. Directed by Tim Wiler. A Kyogen-style interpretation of the Beckett classic, wherein Vladimir and Estragon met Tarokaja and Jirokaja. This is Wiler's MFA thesis production in Asian performance.
"Footholds II: Young Choreographers on Stage," premiering April 2, 3, 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. and April 6 at 2 p.m. A collage of new work by student choreographers, including pieces by Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates Malia Yamamoto and Traci Chun. Tickets: $9 adults, $7 students, seniors, military and UH staff, and $3 UH students.
"Footholds III: A Night at the Catwalk Club," premiering May 7, 8, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. and May 11 at 2 p.m. The theater will be set up as a cabaret, featuring dramatic interludes between dance numbers. Choreographed by Cora Yamagata, MFA dance candidate.

"Hysterical: A Short History of the Vibrator," a play by Hilary Wright, Sept. 21, 27 and 28 at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. A romp about sexual politics, the influence of capitalism and the history of sex toys. Directed by Jennifer Goodlander; both writer and director are MFA candidates.
"Crave," by Sarah Kane, Oct. 26, Nov. 1 and 2 at 11 p.m. and Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. The play is by one of Britain's on-the-edge playwrights, who committed suicide in 1999, leaving behind a legacy of five haunting works. Directed by Taurie Kinoshita.
