• "Airport on Alert," 3 and 6 p.m., Travel Channel. Last Sept. 11, a film crew happened to be at the San Francisco airport planning an documentary about airports. It stayed to study the fallout of the attacks. There was confusion and chaos. Some honeymooners weren't sure if they'd make it to Hawai'i. A Chinese tourist, facing a language barrier, refused to budge. There were also mistakes in the days that followed. Alongside these images we hear experts debate security.

• "ER," 9 p.m., NBC. The drama — brief but powerful — comes before the opening credits of this rerun. That's when Carter (Noah Wyle) reads the staff a letter from Greene (Anthony Edwards), who retreated to Hawai'i. After that, it's an ordinary "ER" with a drunken Abby (Maura Tierney) being nudged toward rehab.
