Officials seek lead on suspect's car

The Naval Criminal Investigation Service and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking information on a light-green, four-door Daewoo Leganza with the license plate JGS-405 that was being driven by a Pearl Harbor sailor who has been missing since July 12.

Victorio Santiago, 37, is believed to be with his two sons, Neal and Daniel, ages 11 and 7, respectively.

Investigators said the car may be parked in a long-term garage or in a remote area. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or the Missing Persons Detail at 529-3021.

Kalihi man charged in assault on girl

A 32-year-old Kalihi man was charged yesterday with six counts of first-degree sex assault on a 13-year-old runaway girl.

Prosecutors are requesting $100,000 bail for Ricardo Santos of a Rose Street address. Santos is also accused of three counts of third-degree sexual assault.

The alleged assaults occurred Aug. 16-17. The girl reported the assaults to her mother after returning home, police said.

Suspect charged in Hawai'i Kai burglary

Police have charged a 35-year-old woman with a May 5 burglary of a residence in Hawai'i Kai.

Denise Salazar of Sunset Beach was charged with first-degree burglary. She is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. Salazar is awaiting trial on an unrelated burglary charge and also has burglary counts pending in connection with several other incidents, police said.

Coins and costume jewelry were stolen in the May 5 break-in.

Kapolei burglar wanted by police

Police are looking for a man who fled the scene of a home burglary in Kapolei Aug. 23 despite efforts by neighbors to capture him.

The man entered the home through a master bedroom window but escaped by jumping through a second-floor window of another room. Neighbors unsuccessfully chased the burglar, who was last seen running west on Kapolei Parkway.

The burglar is about 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt with red and white Hawaiian-print surf shorts.
