BYU defeats Warriors, 35-32

The Brigham Young University Cougars rallied from a 17-7 first-half deficit to defeat the University of Hawai‘i Warriors, 35-32, today in Provo, Utah.

UH remained winless in games played in Provo, losing its eighth in a row. But this one was closer than most, with UH bolting to a 10-0 lead and leading deep into the game. BYU, taking advantage of four interceptions thrown by UH quarterback Tim Chang, took a 35-24 lead late in the game. The Warriors scored in the closing seconds and their two-point conversion try tightened the game. BYU recovered UH's onside kick with about 30 seconds left to play.

BYU improved to 2-0. UH is 1-1 with its next game Sept. 21 at Texas-El Paso.
