'Sunset on Beach' backs Project Give Aloha

Tomorrow's "Sunset on the Beach" takes on deeper meaning when it becomes the stage for Project Give Aloha, which marks the anniversary of the Sept. 11 tragedy.
"Give Aloha," the song written by entertainer and firefighter Jesse Rivera, will be performed by a number of stars in the Hawai'i showbiz galaxy, including Melveen Leed, Auntie Genoa Keawe, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom, Marlene Sai, Vaihi, Maunalua, Rivera himself and many others.
The public is encouraged to join in and dress in red, white and blue and lei. Hawai'i's police, firefighters and other emergency workers are expected to sing, too.
A videotape of the performance will later be presented the the people of New York City as a gift from Hawai'i.
