ROBERTA ANNIS has been appointed national sales manager at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa on Maui. Annis is responsible for generating sales in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. She is a 20-year veteran of the hotel industry.

JAMES M. EWING has been promoted to executive vice president at Bank of Hawaii. Formerly a senior vice president, he is responsible for the bank's wholesale credit division and for managing credit approval and credit administration for commercial loans and leases. Ewing joined Bank of Hawaii in 1999 as vice president and department manager. Prior to Bank of Hawaii, he worked at Bank of America for 17 years, most recently as senior vice president and department manager.

BETSEY HUGHES GUNDERSON has been selected as high school principal of Maryknoll School. Her responsibilities include the overall educational development of students and the professional development of teachers; identifying current and future educational requirements; and developing an educational plan for the school. Gunderson is a 1968 graduate of Maryknoll School and has nearly 30 years of experience in the private school sector. She previously was interim vice president at the high school.

MICHELLE KIM has been hired as senior marketing planner at AIG Hawaii Insurance Co. Kim will be responsible for managing the AIG Hawaii added-value customer loyalty program; developing and implementing customer-retention programs; overseeing all AIG Hawaii-sponsored special events; and creating marketing opportunities and relationships. Previously, Kim held positions at ARAMARK Corp., including Northwest district marketing director in Seattle and sales and marketing director in Atlanta.

AMBER MADEIROS has been appointed the Hawai'i agent for Cal Hono Freight Forwarders. Madeiros will be responsible for all customer relations for the company on O'ahu and Maui. She formerly was senior sales representative at Young Brothers for four years.

MARK M. MATSUDA has joined Otomo Engineering InC. as a project engineer. His responsibilities will include engineering design and project management. Prior to joining the company, Matsuda was with Warren S. Unemori Engineering Inc.

ANN SHISHIDO has been hired as customer service representative at Hagadone Printing Co. Shishido has seven years of experience in the printing and digital industry, and was previously a customer service representative at United Printing.
