Kaua'i boy still in critical conditionA 22-month-old Kaua'i boy remained in critical condition today at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children with abdominal injuries caused by blunt trauma, police said. Child Protective Services and police in Honolulu and Kaua'i are monitoring the case. There have been no arrests as yet.
Pedestrian killed in Waikiki ID'd
The Medical Examiner's Office has identified the pedestrian who was killed Wednesday in Waikiki as Sue Gosney, 80, of Wahiawa. She was struck by a shuttle bus at Kapahulu and Kalakaua avenues.
The identities of two other pedestrians killed last week a man crossing the H-1 Freeway near Fort Shafter on Thursday and woman struck by a car in Makakilo have yet to be confirmed.
Child starts fire that guts home
A child playing with a lighter started a fire yesterday that gutted a Big Island home at 92-1439 Kona Drive, fire officials said.
Damage to the Hawai'i Ocean View Estates residence in Ka'u was estimated at $90,000. The fire was reported at 1:42 p.m.
