Kahuku.org, an e-commerce venture run by and for Kahuku High School, celebrates its first anniversary this month with gross revenue of more than $125,000, of which the school received nearly $25,000, said Mary-Anne Long of the Ko'olauloa Education Alliance Corp.

The alliance created the business venture that educates and trains students to operate the store located at the high school.

Nearly $40,000 was paid to local vendors and 6,700 items were sold, including 3,600 T-shirts to benefit the football team, she said.

Internet sales continue to grow, providing about 5 percent of merchandise revenue and about 20 percent of ticket sale revenue, Long said.
