Two more unions back Hirono

Two more labor unions have endorsed Democratic Lt. Gov. Mazie Hirono for governor, her campaign announced yesterday.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Locals 1260 and 1357, are backing Hirono, as is the Painters and Allied Trades Union, Local 1791.


Candidates at board meeting

A candidates forum sponsored by the Manoa Neighborhood Board will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m today in the Noelani Elementary School cafeteria, 2655 Woodlawn Drive.

Candidates for lieutenant governor, City Council and state House District 24 are expected to attend.


BOE candidates to attend forum

The League of Women Voters will sponsor a Board of Education candidates forum at 7 p.m. Monday at the American Association of University Women clubhouse at 1802 Keeaumoku St.

The clubhouse is located at the intersection with Dominis Street. A parking lot is available below Nehoa Street.

There are 10 candidates running for three at-large seats and three candidates each for seats in Central and Windward O'ahu.
