Though he's been sporting a beard for years, retired news anchor Bob Sevey is clean-shaven for his tapings this week of a KGMB-TV retrospective, in which the "Walter Cronkite of Hawai'i" will serve as narrator and also reflect on the golden anniversary of the CBS affiliate. The Channel 9 program has been expanded from an hour to 90 minutes, said producer Phil Arnone. It will air from 9 to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. ...

HERE 'N' THERE: There was an unusual Hawai'i presence at a ritzy Beverly Hills wedding reception recently. When newlyweds Adam and Andrea Slutske took to the dance floor for their first, the tune was the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole arrangement, note for note, of "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World." No 'ukulele, but guests Bonnie and Eliot Tiegel said the bandleader "phrased the words in a soft tenor voice exactly the way Iz does." ...
And a reminder: Iz's vocal again will be heard in that poignant Dr. Greene finale on "ER," rebroadcast at 9 tonight on KHNL-8. ...
