Kahala election forum tonight

The five candidates vying for the City Council District 4 seat will speak at the Kahala Community Association meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Kahala Park Recreation Center.

Reapportionment merged the area represented by Duke Bainum with parts of that represented by John Henry Felix. District 4 now includes Hawai'i Kai, Wai'alae Nui, Diamond Head, Kahala, Waikiki and Wilhemina Rise.


Candidates debate on 'Olelo

Candidates for City Council District 6 will take part in a live televised debate tonight as part of the "Vote! 2002: Candidates Debate" series sponsored by 'Olelo Community Television.

The debate will air from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oceanic Channel 54 and Oceanic Digital Control.

Isaac Hokama, Dennis Nakasato and John Steel-quist are scheduled to participate.


Candidates to speak in Kohala

WAIMEA, Hawai'i — Nine South Kohala community groups are co-sponsoring a forum for state and county council candidates at 5:30 p.m. today at the Waimea Town Hall.
