Games to be aired on Mainland

Advertiser Staff

Saturday's First Hawaiian Bank Football Classic will be televised live to the Mainland, KGMB general manager Rick Blangiardi said yesterday.

Blangiardi said he reached an agreement with Fox Sports West and Fox Sports Bay Area to provide a live feed for the doubleheader, which will feature Kahuku High School and St. Louis against nationally ranked Long Beach Poly (Calif.) and De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), respectively.

KGMB will televise the games live in Hawai'i if at least 40,000 tickets are sold by Friday.

Blangiardi also said a deal was reached with Action Cable Sports Network to televise the event on a delayed basis in the Pacific Northwest. Action Cable Sports Network is operated by Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen.

"That means the games will be shown on cable up and down the entire West Coast," Blangiardi said.

The games will be broadcast live in Hawai'i on radio station KUMU.
