WASHINGTON — Here are some actions in Congress last week.

Key Senate votes:

1. Drought aid

The Senate voted 79-16 on Tuesday to provide nearly $6 billion in aid for farmers and ranchers affected by the drought, despite Bush administration arguments that the proposal would cost too much. A yea vote was to approve the amendment to the Interior Appropriations bill.
