Search goes on for missing man

Police are still searching for 82-year-old Hiroki "Richard" Sanada of Mo'ili'ili, who left his Kuilei Street apartment Thursday at 8 p.m. Sanada frequents downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, police said. He is wearing a black baseball cap with a "HAWAII" logo. Sanada recently suffered a heart attack and requires medication. Police checked out several unconfirmed sightings over the weekend.

Death of man leads to arrest

A 32-year-old man with no permanent local address was arrested by police Saturday on suspicion of second-degree murder after a man he had fought with later collapsed and died. The man arrested was eventually released without being charged pending further investigation.

Homicide investigators are awaiting autopsy findings to determine if injuries sustained in the fight contributed to the death of a 39-year-old man, who died at The Queen's Medical Center. The alleged fight occurred in a Punchbowl-area parking lot on the 1300 block of Lusitana Street at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Charges filed in alleged assault

Police have charged a 41-year-old Wahiawa man with nine counts of third-degree sexual assault on an 11-year-old family member. The man, who is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim, is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Kayaker dies after Mahukona rescue

A 56-year-old Kamuela man who Big Island firefighters found Wednesday at Mahukona Beach Park in North Kohala died Saturday at Straub Clinic & Hospital. The medical examiner's office identified the man as Ronald E. Walker.

Walker was reported missing by a family member Tuesday night. Fire Rescue found him Wednesday morning and recovered his kayak offshore. Walker was taken by air from Kohala Hospital to Straub on Wednesday.
