Lumber thief dupes supply company
Police are trying to identify a man who stole $3,000 worth of building supplies last month. The man was familiar with ordering and purchasing procedures, said police Detective Gail Lovediro.
The supplies were ordered by telephone from a Honolulu company in the name of a construction business.
The order, which included lumber, was delivered Aug. 1 to an empty lot in Wai'anae where it was signed for by the man. It was discovered later the construction company never placed the order.
