Complexities of color a little baffling
One evening, while I was getting ready for dining out, my daughter, then 3, pointed to my dress and said "Red."
At pre-school, she had just learned her primary colors and would go around pointing at everything and name its color.
My dress was fuchsia, but I did not wish to confuse her by introducing her to another color with a fancy name.
"No, honey," I told her, "my dress is not red, but it's a type of pink. It is called hot pink."
"Oh," she replied and immediately started to rub her hand up and down my dress.
I looked down at her and she looked up at me with a puzzled look said:
"It don't feel hot to me!"
