Kealakehe 4th-quarter rally stops Hawai'i Prep

Trailing by 21 points in the fourth quarter, Kealakehe High School scored 22 points on runs of 1, 6, and 2 yards to beat Hawai'i Preparatory Academy, 22-21, in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation football game at Kamuela, Hawai'i, yesterday.

Michael Kaniho's two-point conversion pass to Will Murphy with 25 seconds to go put Kealakehe up for good.

Kealakehe amassed 146 yards rushing and 224 passing in the win.

Both teams are 2-1 in league play.

TENNIS

• Dillingham due: Entries for the 50th annual Dillingham Tennis Championships are due Wednesday. The tournament will be Oct. 12-14, with qualifying rounds Oct. 5-6.

Total purse for men and women is $10,000. This year, all finalists will receive equal prize money.

The tournament is played at Punahou's nine-court facility. It includes player parties Oct. 5 and 12, free Wilson and Yonex clinics

Oct. 13, food concession and daily prize giveaways. Admission is free.

MEETINGS

• Quarterback Club: Dave Shoji, University of Hawai'i women's volleyball head coach, and UH assistant football coaches Kevin Lempa and Mike Cavanaugh will speak at tomorrow's Honolulu Quarterback Club.

The club's luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting at noon at Pagoda Restaurant.

Clyde Tanabe, manager of the Waipi'o Little League team that participated in Little League World Series, also will speak.

Lunch is $6.50 for club members and $7 for non-members.

• Na Koa: University of Hawai'i head coach June Jones and assistant coach Ron Lee will review yesterday's victory against Texas-El Paso at tomorrow's meeting of Na Koa Football Club at the All-Star Cafe.

Lunch is $12 and open to the public. Parking is free with validation. The program begins at noon.
