Tonight's Must-See
- "Frasier" season opener, 8 p.m., NBC. After decades of TV weddings, all the big, broad comedy approaches may have been taken. So "Frasier" goes the other way. It starts the season with Niles and Daphne quietly reciting their vows. The show follows with enough twists to keep the laughs coming. The result is rarely hilarious, but always intelligent and funny.
Of Note
- "Gilmore Girls" season opener, 7 p.m., WB. Here's the town's fall festival with a barbershop chorus singing the same song repeatedly. Meanwhile, romance has been tough on both Gilmores, mother and daughter.
- "In-Laws" premiere, 7 and 7:30 p.m., NBC. Matt (Elon Gold) has a gorgeous wife (Bonnie Somerville) and wants to be a chef. That means moving in with her hard-nosed dad (Dennis Farina) and eccentric mom (Jean Smart). Quick, slick comedy.
