Hawai'i remains No. 2 in women's volleyball

The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team held on to No. 2 in the latest USA Today/AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25, released yesterday.
Southern California (8-0) remained No. 1 with 1,611 points and 55 first-place votes. UH (10-0) had 1,545 points and eight first-place votes. Florida (9-1) was No. 3, followed by Stanford (10-1) and Nebraska (9-1). Stanford and No. 6 Long Beach State (10-0) each received a first-place vote.
UH opens the Western Athletic Conference season against Rice at Stan Sheriff Center on Friday.
