Lee finishes No. 15 on Gateway golf money list

Hawai'i's Regan Lee tied for 37th at the Epson Tour Championship yesterday to finish 15th on The Gateway Tour money list.

Lee, who will open defense of his Waikoloa Open championship this morning, won $42,367 on the Phoenix-based mini-tour.

He played all 15 events on the tour and made the cut in the last 12.

David Howser finished first on the Gateway Tour money list, with $124,031 in eight events. Howser also won the tour finale at TPC of Scottsdale-Stadium Course.

He closed with a 4-under-par 67 yesterday. His four-day total was 11-under 273.

Lee shot 71 and finished at 289.


BASKETBALL

• Time to renew season tickets: Current season ticket holders for University of Hawai'i men's basketball games have until Oct. 8 to renew those tickets.

Renewal forms were mailed by the UH ticket office this week.

All remaining season tickets will be sold at the Stan Sheriff Center from Oct. 28 through Nov. 8.

The season-ticket package features 16 home games, including the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic.

Ticket prices: $250 for lower level seats (plus a $40 "premium" fee); $185 for upper level adult seats; $140 for upper level student seats.

Four starters return from last season's Western Athletic Conference championship team that finished 27-6.

In the Street and Smith's College Basketball Preview magazine released this week, UH was picked to repeat as WAC champions.

Midnight 'Ohana, the team's first official practice, is scheduled for Oct. 11.

The regular-season home opener will be against Arkansas-Little Rock and is scheduled for Nov. 22.


SOCCER

• Alumnae match on tap: The Rainbow Wahine soccer team will be playing its alumnae game Oct. 5 at the University of Hawai'i practice facility.

There is no admission charge for the exhibition, which starts at 4 p.m.
