• A seminar, "13 COMMON MISTAKES WHEN MANAGING MONEY IN RETIREMENT," will be offered free Saturday to any of the 52,000 members of the Hawai'i State Federal Credit Union. The seminar, presented by Hawai'i State Financial Services, is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. in the credit union's main branch, 560 Halekauwila St., fourth floor, multipurpose room. • A charity event to benefit the Organ Donor Center of Hawai'i, sponsored by the Building Owners and Managers Association, will be Oct. 8 at The Plaza Club. The event, "Have a Heart ... Lend a Hand," is scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the club atop Pioneer Plaza Plaza, and will feature cocktails, food, entertainment by Gabe Baltazar and jazz quartet, "gambling" games, silent auction and door prizes. TUESDAY

• A free COMPUTER BOOT CAMP is offered 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to small-business owners interested in using computer technology to improve and expand business operations and management. The program is sponsored by the Small Business Resource Center, in partnership with the Small Business Administration, the city Office of Economic Development, Hawai'i Small Business Development Center Network, Hawai'i Women's Business Center, and SCORE. It is open to all clients of the center who have attended a center orientation, offered 9 a.m. Tuesdays or 2 p.m. Thursdays at 1041 Nu'uanu Ave., #A. • The MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF HONOLULU will offer free weekly orientation sessions to minority business owners and prospective entrepreneurs. The sessions, 9 to 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday in the center's offices in Suite 2506 of the Executive Center, 1088 Bishop St., will offer advice on business startup, marketing plans, loans, employee handbooks and access to capital. • Kent Keith, vice president for development and communications at the YMCA of Honolulu, will speak at the noon luncheon meeting Thursday of the EXCHANGE CLUB OF DOWNTOWN HONOLULU.
