Hula exhibit opens

It honors kupuna such as 'Iolane Luahine, Harriet Ne, Joseph Ilala'ole and Kau'i Zuttermeister. Interactive exhibits teach hula basics. And photos from halau around the world illustrate the spread of the tradition beyond Hawai'i.
At 6:30 p.m. Monday, a panel of prominent kumu hula Winona Beamer, Pualani Kanahele, Nalani Kanaka'ole, Hokulani Holt-Padilla and John Keola Lake will discuss "Ha Kula Iwikuamo'o (The Traditions of Hula)" in the Castle Memorial Building; free to Bishop members, $5 general public, $3 students with ID. MS walk tomorrow

Then she learned last year she had multiple sclerosis, a disease that damages the nervous system.
Now the 44-year-old grandmother of five from Makawao, Maui, is doing MS Walks here and on Maui to get the word out about the disease. "It was really welcoming to know I wasn't going crazy," she said.
The O'ahu walk begins at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow at McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Beach Park. The Kaua'i MS Walk is set for May 3 and the Maui MS Walk for May 10.
Iz tune on TV again
The "Charmed" episode airs at 8 p.m. Sunday on KFVE-5. The Spelling Television production is the WB's most-watched series, reaching an estimated 12 million viewers weekly; it is about three sisters drawn together to fulfill an ancient witchcraft prophecy.
The Lifetime movie, which premiered March 10, will be broadcast periodically in the weeks ahead. It stars Virginia Madsen, Lainie Kazan and Hawai'i's Jason Momoa in an Island storyline: Back in Hawai'i to lay her hanai mother to rest, a woman uncovers a dark secret and falls in love.
