Kamehameha stops Maryknoll, 8-1

Keoni Ruth went 3-for-4, including a double and triple, and J.P. Kennedy and Kahe Santos each had two hits as Kamehameha defeated Maryknoll, 8-1, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game at Ala Wai Field.

Kamehameha moved into a tie for first in the ILH with Iolani, which lost, 13-12, to Mid-Pacific. (See Page D1).

Pac-Five's Owen Simmons pitched a complete game, retiring the last eight batters in order, and recorded five strikeouts.

WEIGHTLIFTING

• Championship set: Team Hawai'i Olympic Weightlifting will host the Hawai'i State Weightlifting Championships from noon to 3 p.m. on April 12 at Windward Mall center stage.

Men, women, and junior men and women will compete in various olympic weightlifting events, including snatch, and clean and jerk.
