Medical mission volunteer Jorge Camara to be honored

Honolulu ophthalmologist and Aloha Medical Mission volunteer Jorge Camara will be honored next Sunday at Maryknoll School's Monsignor Charles A. Kekumano Award & Scholarship Dinner.

The event honors people who devote their skills to the service of others. Over the past five years, the dinner has raised nearly $600,000 for Maryknoll's scholarship fund.

The dinner will be from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom. A silent auction, performance by Maryknoll's Kekumano Choir and a scholarship presentation will open the evening. Entertainment includes Nina Keali'iwahamana Rapozo, pianist Chris Cerna, The Pearl of the Orient Dance Company and pianist Kit Samson.

Tickets start at $100 per seat. To purchase tickets, call the school's development office at 952-7310.
