Key House votes:
1. Smallpox compensation
On Monday, the House rejected, 206-184, to establish a compensation fund for health and emergency workers who become ill or die from smallpox vaccinations. The bill failed to get the necessary two-thirds vote for passage under suspension of rules. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.
Hawai'i votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) NAY; Ed Case (D) NAY
2. Turkey
The House on Thursday rejected, 315-110, an amendment to the war spending bill to cut $1 billion in aid for Turkey. A "yea" vote was to adopt the amendment.

3. War spending
The House on Thursday passed, 414-12, a $77.9 billion war spending bill. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

1. Port security
The Senate on Wednesday rejected, 52-47, an amendment to President Bush's wartime spending bill that would boost security for ports.

2. First responders
The Senate on Thursday passed, 65-32, an amendment to the war spending bill that would increase funding for emergency first responders to $2.2 billion. A "yea" vote was to adopt the amendment.

3. Homeland security
Also Thursday, the Senate killed on a 51-46 vote an amendment to the war spending bill that would increase funding for homeland security by $2.3 billion.
