Big Island man dies after crash

HILO, Hawai'i — A 43-year-old Kailua, Kona, man died yesterday afternoon from injuries suffered in a car crash over the weekend on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway near Kona International Airport. The death was the third on the Big Island as a result of traffic accidents over the weekend, police said.

Lester Macadangdang suffered head injuries in the crash near the 92-mile marker, about a mile north of the airport.
