Of note

"24," 8 p.m., Fox. Jack is increasingly convinced that President Palmer is being tricked into triggering a war. Palmer leans toward going on the attack.
"NYPD Blue," 9 p.m., ABC. In tonight's episode, a shootout leaves Jones (Henry Simmons) as the target of an angry mob.
"Independent Lens: Strange Fruit," 10 p.m. and midnight, PBS. The late Abel Meeropol has been described as an immensely angry and funny man. A former New York teacher, he wrote the brilliant song "Strange Fruit" made popular by Billie Holiday. He and his wife also adopted two boys whose parents (Ethel and Julius Rosenberg) were executed as spies. It's a fascinating story, punctuated with many versions of "Strange Fruit."
