Advertiser Staff

Milici Valenti Ng Pack and ADWorks each won five Pele Awards for advertising and Laird Christianson Harris won four at the 24th annual Pele Awards presentation.

Louise Saffery, president of inter-media, was named Hawaii Advertising Federation Advertising Woman of the Year and Bradley Shin, creative director of Hendrix Miyasaki Shin Advertising, was selected Advertising Man of the Year.

A total of 46 awards were handed out, including the Advertising Agency Association of Hawaii's Lifetime Achievement Award to George Chaplin, the former editor of The Honolulu Advertiser who died Feb. 17.

The Pele Awards are Hawai'i's version of the Addy Awards presented by the American Advertising Federation. Local winners go on to national and international Addy Awards.
