RANDOM NOTES: Singer Loretta Ables Sayre, joined by keyboardist Dan Del Negro, will perform tomorrow night at the Ship's Tavern at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider, and also from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Kahala Mall (joined by bassist Steve Jones). Then she scoots over to her regular Saturday gig at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental. ...

Tricia Marciel, who is marketing and recruitment coordinator for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, didn't need to look far to book the organization's 10th annual Gourmet Affair fund-raiser at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. She enlisted her "Beehive" colleagues from Manoa Valley Theatre, where she sings tunes by Petula Clark, among others. The hit show winds up its sellout run this Sunday. ...

Kamasami Kong and Dr. Rick Williams checked out Sonya Mendez and Rich Crandall a few nights back at Ship's Tavern at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel. They enjoyed the soft jazz and living room ambience and hobnobbed with Rick Blangiardi, KHON and KGMB g.m.; Carole Hayes and Michael Hands (Gaming Advocacy Partners); and Roxanne Yadao. ...

Christopher Knight (aka Peter Brady, the middle brother in TV's "The Brady Brunch") had a great time at Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Kapalua last weekend. When executive chef Ivan Pahk saw Knight at the sushi bar, Pahk had only one thing to say in his best "Brady Bunch" voice: "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. It's always Marsha!" ...

HAWAIIAN DELIGHT: Olomana's first appearance last Saturday on Hawai'i Theatre's Hana Hou bill shouldn't be its last; Jerry Santos' easygoing patter, laced with wonderful musical memories, combined with the artistry of his group (Haunani Apoliona, Wally Suenaga, Willie Paikuli and Mark Yim), guest singer Karen Keawehawai'i and guest hula halau for a true-blue Hawaiian spectacular. For me, May Day came early — dances aplenty, lei galore on stage and off, and first-rate Hawaiiana from start to finish — since I'll be out of town when the Brothers Cazimero do their annual (No. 26) Lei Day concert May 1 at the Waikiki Shell. ...

The 5th annual Bernice Pauahi Bishop Awards Dinner, slated May 10 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, will be themed "Royal Hawaiian Ball," with music performed by Cathy Foy, Nalani Olds and Misty Tauaese, accompanied by the Royal Hawaiian Band.
