Tonight's Must-See

"Biography," 5 and 9 p.m., A&E. Here's a profile on Marie Antoinette, the queen of France. Chances are, we learn, she never said: "Let them eat cake." That same comment was attributed to another noblewoman, a century earlier. She also seems to have been framed by a scheme that made it look like she had ordered an expensive diamond necklace. Still, her marriage to the future King Louis XVI was an ill-advised political scheme. She was 15, uneducated and Austrian. Her marriage may have gone unconsummated for years, possibly because her husband had a physical problem.

Eventually, Marie Antoinette had four children and a mature personality. To the public, however, she remained a flighty spendthrift. She and Louis were executed. France would soon go on to Napoleon and bigger problems.

Of note

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. Tentatively scheduled is a rerun of the episode in which Rachel was deliberately set up with an awful blind date. He's played by Jon Lovitz in some hilarious scenes.

"Survivor: The Amazon," 7 p.m., CBS. The show is into its second half now. Tonight, it eliminates the ninth of its 16 people.

"Extreme Makeover" debut, 8 p.m., ABC. This may be a logical show in an era when people think anything can be fixed with money and medicine. These makeovers go beyond the usual hair and makeup — they even include plastic surgery.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. One case involves a dentist who was stabbed to death at a movie theater. The other involves a 15-year-old boy shot to death in a bullet-riddled warehouse.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. A popular high school teacher disappears after his night class. A search of his apartment raises fresh questions.
