• At a press conference Wednesday on a proposal to give more financial control to school principals, House Majority Leader Scott Saiki, D-22nd (McCully, Pawa'a), said: "Basically what we want to do is give the schools more control over their budget. We believe schools cannot be in complete control until they control their finances." Because of a reporter's error, his statement was attributed to another state representative in a story posted yesterday.
