Tonight's Must-See
"Kids Choice Awards," 5 p.m., Nickelodeon. Rosie O'Donnell hosts this annual show that knows how to have fun. The awards themselves are rather meaningless. For "favorite male butt-kicker," Elijah Wood ("Lord of the Rings") and Tobey Maguire ("Spider-Man") face The Rock ("The Scorpion King") but let's not put them in a ring together. Fortunately, this show is fast and fun, and some of the categories are interesting.
"Hunter: Back in Force," 8 p.m., NBC. After stuffing Saturdays with reruns, NBC tries a new show. The original "Hunter" series spent five of its seven years on Saturdays. Now it's back with original stars Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer as police detectives. After tonight's movie-length opener, it will return as a one-hour series.
Of note
"Touched By an Angel," 7 p.m., CBS. The angels help actors put on a show.
"A Perfect Murder" (1998), 5 p.m., TNT. Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M For Murder" was given a slick remake by director Andrew Davis ("The Fugitive"). Michael Douglas is fine in the lead as a man who hires his wife's lover to kill her. But the real strength was in casting Gwyneth Paltrow (as the wife) and Viggo Mortensen (as her lover) before they became big stars.
"My Best Friend's Wedding" (1997), 8 p.m., ABC. Julia Roberts stars in this bright comedy about a woman supporting the marriage of her pal (Dermot Mulroney). The problem is that she'd really rather marry him herself. Cameron Diaz also stars.
"The District," 8 p.m., CBS. A killer seems to be targeting interracial couples.
"Dennis Miller: The Raw Feed," 7 p.m., HBO. Miller is in top form in this comedy concert. Taped shortly before the war began it finds him hawkish, cynical, conservative and witty.
"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Ray Romano hosts. Musical guest is Zwan.
