Temple stages reading of play
Neal Milner's new play, "Hovering," a one-act piece dealing with a Jewish family on the Mainland getting together for a special event, will be performed in a staged reading at 7:30 p.m. April 26 at Temple Emanu-El, 2550 Pali Highway.
Actors include Lynne Halevi, Eden-Lee Jellinek, Lei Spadaccini, Glenn Cannon and Avi Magid.
Magid is rabbi at Temple Emanu-El, and author Milner is a professor of political science at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Cannon, a professor of theater at UH, also directs.

Tolle teachings to be explained
"Power of Now," an event based on the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, who extolls the virtues of living in the present moment, will conducted by his protegee, Karen McPhee from Canada.
A $15 introductory talk and meditation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 25 at the East-West Center's Koi Room. There also will be a workshop that weekend.
A free informal talk with McPhee will take place during an open house 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. April 23 at the Golden Phoenix Bookstore.
