Movie Openings

"Bend It Like Beckham": An Indian girl (Parminder K. Nagra), living in London wants to play pro soccer. What her traditional Sikh parents want is for her to marry a nice Indian boy. Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery 18 Theatres, Ward Stadium 16-Plex. (PG-13)

"Chi-hwa-seon": Noted South Korean filmmaker Im Kwon-taek's historical drama tells of 19th-century painter Oh-won — his art, his struggles, his loves. Opens tomorrow at the Art House at Restaurant Row. (Not rated)

"Divine Intervention": A series of vignettes set at the checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah, this is a fictional portrait of the tumult between Israelis and Palestinians. "Holes": Based on the award-winning kids' book, this is the comic adventure of a kid and his fellow misfits in a detention camp who dig up something very unusual.
