Celebrations

Keola Kuumakamaehiwahiwamailuna Kaopuiki of Wai'anae celebrated his first birthday at a dinner hosted by his parents, Elena Kahunauni and Kurtis Kaopuiki, on April 12 at their home. Keola was born April 3, 2002.

Jonathan "Kamakani" Motas of Kapolei celebrated his first birthday at a party hosted by his parents, Butch and Kea Motas, at the Bishop Museum on Feb. 8. Jonathan was born Dec. 14, 2001.

Rose Lum Tam-Hoy of Honolulu celebrated her 80th birthday at a brunch hosted by her children, Harold Jr., Agnes, Barry and Bonnie, Feb. 22 at Hale Koa's Banyan Tree Restaurant. She was born Feb. 18, 1923, and has four children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Masaki Togami of Lihu'e, Kaua'i, celebrated her 100th birthday at a dinner hosted by her children, Violet Uemura, Helen Fukumoto, Toshiharu Togami, George Togami and Mitsue Abe, March 29 at the Willows Restaurant in Honolulu. She was born Nov. 24, 1902, and has six children, 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mia Anne Reiko Watanabe of Kane'ohe celebrated her first birthday at a lunch hosted by her parents, Mark and Lori Joy Watanabe, and her grandparents, Feb. 2 at Mid-Pacific Country Club in Kailua. Mia was born Feb. 2, 2002.
