Here's roadwork you can avoid

Several road improvement projects will close traffic lanes on O'ahu highways tomorrow through Friday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Likelike Highway: One Honolulu-bound lane will be closed from Valley View Drive to Kula Kolea Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for construction of retaining walls. One lane in each direction will be closed between Valley View Drive and the Burmeister Overpass from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for median reconstruction work.
Kalaniana'ole Highway: One lane in either direction will be closed between H-1 Freeway and West Hind Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for guardrail installation and roadwork.
Kamehameha Highway: One lane in either direction will be closed and traffic contraflowed between Waiahole Valley Road and Ka'a'awa Place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage improvements.
Pali Highway: One Kailua-bound lane between the Wyllie Street Overpass and Dowsett Avenue and one Honolulu-bound lane between Waokanaka Street and Niolopa Place will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for stripping, median work and the installation of loop detectors, pavement markings and speed display systems.
Moanalua Freeway: One lane may be closed along Kamehameha Highway/Moanalua Freeway in the Honolulu-bound direction between McGrew Loop and Aloha Stadium from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews install a lighting system.
Nimitz Highway and Sand Island Access Road: Lanes may be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. along Sand Island Access Road mauka-bound for bike lane, shoulder, drainage, sidewalk and streetlight work; Nimitz Highway from Kalihi Street to the Ke'ehi Interchange lanes may be closed in both directions to install streetlight bases and conduits; Nimitz Highway at Sand Island Access Road closures in the Waikiki-bound direction to construct a bus lane.
Nimitz Highway: The bicycle route and sidewalks in the Waikiki-bound direction between Queen and Smith streets will be closed until further notice for reconstruction work. Two lanes between Sumner and Queen streets in either direction will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday for water line and railing reconstruction.
