Tonight's Must-See
"7th Heaven," 7 p.m., WB. Tonight, young Lucy (Beverly Mitchell) marries cop Kevin (George Stults). Like most weddings, it brings a mix of chaos, comedy and strong emotion. Most emotional is the return of Barry Watson, who plays Lucy's brother, Matt. Watson was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease and started chemotherapy a year ago. Now cancer-free, he shows up late in this episode for a pivotal moment. Jessica Biel (as Lucy's sister, Mary) also returns briefly.
There's mild drama involving their dad (Stephen Collins) returning to the ministry after his crisis of faith. Meanwhile, the young minister who replaced him heads out with Kevin's police partner, Roxanne. They're supposed to retrieve Kevin's mom (played by Bo Derek, no less) and brother. That leads to some of the wilder moments in an episode filled with wedding chaos.
Of Note
"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. This hour provides a quick catch-up on what's happened so far.
"Helen of Troy" conclusion, 8 p.m., USA Network; repeats at 10. The first half of this miniseries, which repeats at 6 p.m. today, ended with Helen (Sienna Guillory) fleeing from her involuntary marriage. She goes to Troy with her true love, Paris (Matthew Marsden). Tonight, the ships, led by her bitter husband and brother-in-law, follow them. This is a lushly filmed miniseries, but it's overstuffed with enough brutality and tragedy to make "The Sopranos" seem light-hearted.
"Mr. Personality" debut, 8 p.m., Fox. Here's Fox's latest reality twist: A woman chooses from among 20 guys wearing masks. Eventually we'll see what happens when the masks come off, but the real surprise is the host Monica Lewinsky.
"American Experience: Seabiscuit," 9 p.m., PBS. In 1936, Charles Howard bought a loser racehorse for $8,000. Two years later, Seabiscuit was triumphant. Reporter Walter Winchell named him one of the year's top 10 newsmakers, along with Franklin Roosevelt and Adolph Hitler. This light documentary tells the story.
