Tonight's Must-See

"Will & Grace," 8 and 8:30 p.m., NBC. This is the first night of a "sweeps" ratings period. As a result, networks will try harder to win viewers. On NBC that means shoveling in guest stars. Here, Madonna plays Karen's new roommate who shares her obsession with men. That's followed by a half-hour that reruns snippets involving guest stars, including Demi Moore and Matt Damon.

Of Local Note

MERRIE MONARCH FESTIVAL, 6 p.m., KITV. The 40th annual edition of the hula festival kicks off tonight with the Miss Aloha Hula competition, featuring women's solo performances. Broadcast live from the Edith Kanaka'ole Tennis Stadium in Hilo.

Of Note

"Friends," 7 p.m., NBC. More guest stars: In the first episode Aisha Tyler ("Talk Soup") plays Ross' dream date, a beautiful paleontology professor. Meanwhile, Alex Bornstein ("Mad TV") — who appeared on Tuesday's "Frasier" — tonight plays an angry woman with a one-woman show.

"Survivor: The Amazon," 7 p.m., CBS. The field is trimmed to six.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. A comedian dies on stage. Was his glass of water poisoned?

"Frontline: Cyber War," 9 p.m., PBS. As Americans become computer-driven, this hour says, there are possibilities for anything from mischief to terrorism on the Internet. "The money you're getting out of the ATM machine, the ... traffic light, all of this is connected in one way or another to the Internet," computer expert Richard Clarke says. "If the Internet fails, all that fails, because we've burned our boats."
