'Aiea stops Waipahu, stays unbeaten

Aaron Asher hit two solo home runs and Kepa Wong added another homer as 'Aiea remained undefeated with a 12-9 victory over host Waipahu in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division game yesterday.

'Aiea is 8-0.

Travis Atualevao hit a two-run homer for Waipahu (4-3).

The Mules had won their last five after opening the season 0-2, and outscored their last four opponents 35-0 before yesterday's loss.

• Radford 7, Nanakuli 0, forfeit:
Nanakuli coach John Lopes said his team forfeited yesterday's game with Radford (1-8) because the Golden Hawks were without two players, who were ejected during a game Saturday.

According to OIA rules, ejected players must sit out the following game, leaving the Golden Hawks (0-9) without enough players.

• KAISER 8, ROOSEVELT 7: Niles Nakama singled in Landon Kaaua with what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Roosevelt's Cameron Kimura hit a home run in the top of the seventh to close to 8-7.

Jarryd Maeda was 2-for-4, including a three-run homer in the third and a two-run single in the fifth that gave the Cougars a 7-6 lead.
