Critic's Choice
Mini-reviews of stage productions by Advertiser theater critic Joseph Rozmiarek
"Morning's At Seven": God's in his heaven and all's right with the world, despite 50 years of family intimacy threatening to dissolve overnight. Excellent ensemble acting by a cast of veterans makes this domestic comedy a real treat. At 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays, 4 p.m. Sundays (but at 6 p.m. on May 11), through May 11 on Hawai'i Pacific University's Windward campus. Tickets: $14 general, $10 seniors, military, students, HPU faculty/staff, and $5 HPU students. 375-1282.
"The Weir": An evening of ghost stories leads to deeper revelations in this monologue-based blend of blarney and Chekhovian melancholy. Excellent set and performances make us feel like we're sitting in an Irish pub. At 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays through May 11 at the Yellow Brick Studio, 625 Keawe St. Tickets: $10. 722-6941.
