Pacific Heights fire leaves nine homeless

Advertiser Staff

Nine people were left homeless last night when fire gutted a two-story house at 1901 Pacific Heights Road.

HFD Capt. Kenison Tejada said the fire was reported at 10:13 p.m. and was under control by 10:38 p.m. About 40 firefighters from nine companies battled the fire. The firefighters were still pouring water on the smoldering house at press time.

Investigators were at the scene, but no cause had been determined and there was no damage estimate.

Two families totaling nine people lived in the house. They declined assistance from the Red Cross because they were able to make their own arrangements.

No one was injured.
