WASHINGTON — Here are some actions in Congress last week.

Key House votes: The House is in recess until Sept. 2



Key Senate votes

1. Pryor nomination

On Thursday, the Senate rejected, 53-44, an attempt to end debate on the nomination of William Pryor of Alabama to be a U.S. Circuit Judge for the 11th Circuit.

Hawai'i votes: Daniel Akaka (D) NAY; Dan Inouye (D) NAY



2. Energy bill

On Thursday, the Senate passed, 84-14, a comprehensive energy bill.

Hawai'i votes: Daniel Akaka (D) YEA; Dan Inouye (D) YEA



3. Singapore trade

On Thursday, the Senate passed, 66-32, a bill to make Singapore a trading partner of the United States.

Hawai'i votes: Daniel Akaka (D) NAY; Dan Inouye (D) NAY



4. Chile trade

On Thursday, the Senate passed, 66-31, a bill to make Chile a trading partner of the United States.

Hawai'i votes: Daniel Akaka (D) NAY; Dan Inouye (D) NAY
