IRENE MASAKO FUJIKI, 82, of Honolulu, died Aug. 2, 2003. Born in Honolulu. A homemaker. Former employee of Quality Bakery and Army & Navy Exchange Service. Survived by husband, Masaru "Masa"; daughters, Irene Nagao, May Kambara, Jenny Tellyer, June DeBusk, Carol Long and Suzanne Miller; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Thomas Takeuchi; sisters, Katherine Price, Mabel Kekina and Betty Takeuchi. LAWRENCE "LARRY" MASAMI KISHINAMI, 89, of Mililani, died July 28, 2003. Born in Waialua. Member of Waialua United Church of Christ. Survived by wife, Mitsuko; sons, Wayne, Vernon and Ross; brothers, Wilbert, Edward and Robert; sisters, Gladys Takehara; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Private service held. "AUNTY BETTY" FOO LAHAPAKUPO MAKIA, 88, of New York City, died July 2, 2003. Born in Olowalu, Maui. Longtime matriarch of the East Coast Hawaiian entertainment community; hula dancer, along with musician husband, Sam Makia, at the New York Hotel Lexington; and performer with entertainers such as Johnny Pineapple, Napua Wood and the Mossman Sisters. Survived by son, Leonard "Spike"; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Church, Kaimuki. Burial 10:30 a.m. Monday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

EUGENE KEITH MAGERS, formerly known as EUGENE KASPAROVITCH, 85, of Salinas, Calif., died July 30, 2003. Born in Honolulu. A Punahou graduate, U.S. Army veteran and retired superintendent of North Monterey County Union School District. Survived by wife, Helen; daughter, Janis; son, Keith; sisters, Tasia Jackson and Naidah Ah Koi. Mainland service. Burial at San Joaquin National Cemetery, Gustine, Calif. SIONE VAILILIVA MATEAKI, 59, of 'Ewa Beach, died Aug. 16, 2003. Born in Tonga. A retired general building contractor. Survived by wife, Sharon "Noe"; son, George; daughter, Puanani; five grandchildren; sister, Malia Funak; brothers, Mosaiah and Lehonitai. Service held in the Tongan Orem 8th Ward, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial held at Provo City Cemetery, Utah. Arrangements by Walker-Family Mortuary.

RAUL "RJ" JOSEPH MESTAS, 38, of Lahaina, Maui, died Aug. 2, 2003. Born in Los Angeles. Boat captain for a tour company. ALFREDO TABISOLA TABON, 81, of 'Aiea, died Aug. 2, 2003. Born in Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. A carpenter. Survived by wife, Lucia; son, Angelito; daughters, Teresita Garcia and Nely Tabon-Tabbay; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Caridad Ramirez, Conchita Tesoro and Josefina. SEITOKU UEJO, 80, of Honolulu, died July 31, 2003. Born in Kohala, Hawai'i. Retired gardener for Kamehameha Schools. Survived by wife, Haruyo; son, Ted; daughters, Sharon Kaneshige, Amy Yuen and Brenda Nakamitsu; eight grandchildren; sisters, Kiyoko Maekado, Betty, Janet Shimabukuro and Kikue Tamashiro.
