Man indicted in fatal crash
Alika Nomura, 32, of Mililani, has been indicted by an O'ahu grand jury on negligent homicide charges in connection with a fatal vehicle crash in Waialua last year. Mary Florence Tvetene died after the Saturn sedan she was driving was broadsided in April 2002 by a pickup truck as she attempted a left turn from Naluahi Street onto Farrington Highway in Waialua. Police said the truck was speeding.
O'ahu woman faces charges
An O'ahu woman faces federal drug paraphernalia charges for allegedly importing nearly 2,300 glass and metal "ice" pipes into Hawai'i from New Delhi, India. Customs officials discovered the pipes while inspecting air freight parcels at Honolulu International Airport. Uni Naomi Noguchi was arrested Monday.

Woman critical after car crash
A 38-year-old woman was critically injured yesterday when her car slammed into a utility pole at Hakimo and Kapiki roads in Nanakuli at 6:41 a.m. The woman was trapped in the car, but firefighters from the Nanakuli station freed her. She was taken to the Wai'anae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and then flown by helicopter to The Queen's Medical Center, police said.
